The origin of the Casa do Monte is lost in the memory of time. For centuries, it was the heart of a large farm covering the surrounding area. Without pretensions of aristocratic origin, its greatness is reflected in its traditional architecture and functional character, featuring the best materials of the region. The transformation of society and its values gradually faded Casa do Monte into the background. Over the course of the last century, the house fell into disrepair and became derelict.
Fortunately, in the late 20th century, one person had the vision to recover it, and so the house was restored. Today, Casa do Monte is a luxurious holiday home, opening its doors to tourism, combining traditional character with 21st-century comfort. Surrounded by hills and valleys, the house is located in the village of Teixeiró, close to Mesão Frio, in the heart of the Lower Corgo, forming part of the port wine route. The location is ideal for exploring the valley of the Douro, as well as its world-renowned wine tradition.

Our Rooms
The house has nine bedrooms, five of which are ensuite. All rooms have air conditioning and central heating. Most rooms face the valley to the west of the house.

Outstanding stay
The villa itself is great and much bigger than we were expecting. It was extremely flexible and suited out multigenerational group perfectly. The kids loved the cinema room and the pool table, especially. Communication with the team was simple from booking all the way through to the end of our stay, with any queries or questions dealt with extremely promptly. They gave some great recommendations for restaurants and vineyards to visit. They were always on hand to help which was great. The breakfast was really appreciated by everyone.
Magnificent Villa
A large group of family and friends (19) stayed at Casa do Monte in August 22 for a week and had the most wonderful time. The villa was exceptional in every way. The weather was extremely hot and the air conditioned rooms and pool were perfect. The host, Marcus, was extremely helpful and very responsive. He arranged a catered meal one evening that was incredible - even the kids got involved being shown by the chef the best way to cook a steak! The housekeeper Rosa was so helpful, preparing breakfast for us every morning. The villa had everything we could want and I cannot think of anything that could have been there that wasn't. We would absolutely recommend this property to anyone and we all hope to be back some day in the future.
Fabulous property with attentive staff
We were a group of 18, six couples and three children between the ages of two and a half and seven months old. The property owner and staff were wonderful, they answered all our questions before the trip, helped arrange activities and meals, and were communicative throughout the stay. The property is huge, very spacious and even as a large group we never felt on top of one another. Air-conditioning throughout the property is a huge plus. The playroom offered lots for the children and the provision of travel cots meant we could pack lighter. We will not hesitate to return, thank you for a lovely trip.

Poucas foram as vezes que encontramos uma oferta ao v/ nÃvel, arriscando mesmo dizer que foi, de entre muitas que já usufruÃmos, uma das melhores senão a melhor. Parabéns.
